Grants available for water trading course
Farmers involved in water trading now have an opportunity to learn more about the market in the Lower Murray Darling Basin through a new Introduction to Water Trading short course offered by Bendigo TAFE in conjunction with Greeneye.com.
Participants will learn terminology used in the water market; the mechanics of the water market; charting the water market; tools for predicting seasonal allocation; and practical water trading strategies. Overall, it enables better decision making when buying, selling or using water allocation, and will assist irrigators with their water allocation needs.
But there is further incentive for farmers to enrol, with grants through FarmReady funding available to those who undertake this course. FarmReady will provide reimbursements of up to $1500 per financial year to eligible participants.
This four hour interactive course is being offered throughout regional areas, including Shepparton, Echuca/Moama, Swan Hill and Mildura. On completion of this introductory stage, participants will be given details of the advanced course should they wish to further enhance their knowledge and skills in water trading.
So for those farmers wanting to learn more about water market scenarios and best trading strategies, contact Bendigo TAFE to enrol on 1300 554 248 or visit www.britafe.vic.edu.au
